Adaptive Design Association Renews 3600

GFP Real Estate, LLC is pleased to announce that Adaptive Design Association (ADA), a NYC-based nonprofit that uses an innovative approach to disability services, has signed a five-year lease renewal for its 3,600-square-foot office on the ground floor of 307 West 36th Street.

Barbara Yagoda, Senior Managing Director of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate, and the tenant in the transaction.

“ADA is an incredible organization that has helped countless New Yorkers with disabilities since its inception,” said Yagoda. “As a tenant of 313 West 36th Street in 2006, ADA enjoys its Midtown location for its close proximity to Penn Station, the Port Authority and Grand Central, making it easier for their clients and staff to visit in-person. We look forward to their continued success and are thrilled to see ADA remain in place long-term.”

ADA’s is the only organization that both builds custom assistive equipment (adaptations) using easily-accessible materials like cardboard and wood, and teaches community partners how to do so. It was established in 1998, and over the last two decades, has created thousands of adaptations for children in NYC and provided hundreds of hands-on classes and internships. ADA has operated at 313 West 36th Street since 2006.

Built in 1926 and known initially as Garment Wear Arcade, 307 West 36th Street is an 18-story, 220,000-square-foot classic pre-war high-rise building designed by Emery Roth. Renovated in 2012, the building features a white-marble lobby with entrances on both 36th and 37th Streets, respectively. The building has become home to a wide range of tenants, from notable fashion brands Lingua Franca to civic design firm Urbah Architects, as well as many non-profits such as GOOD+ Foundation and the Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City.
